Welcome to Wendy’s Walk for Kids 2015
|Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers is excited by the opportunity to partner with the Dick's Sporting Goods Open and several sponsors to host this annual fundraising event benefiting children at the upcoming Dick's Sporting Goods Open on Sunday, August 30th. The goal of the Walk is to assist organizations whose purpose is to help the most vulnerable members of our community, the children, realize their full potential, regardless of their life experiences and current circumstances.|
Last year the Walk distributed over $250,000 to four wonderful charities benefiting children: The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, JCC Binghamton, ACHIEVE, and Food Bank of the Southern Tier. These wonderful people give their time, money and energy supporting efforts to help children in Greater Binghamton.
This year, all monies raised will be distributed to our 2015 organizations: The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption, Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier (MHAST), Kopernik Observatory and Science Center, and OurSpace at Rec Park. All funds raised for the Wendy's Walk for Kids will go through Broome County Community Charities, which will be receiving and distributing the funds for this event.
We are all connected to someone whose life has been touched by adoption, a child with severe illness and other challenges that children and their families face. We encourage you all to team up, step out and share hope for children in the Greater Binghamton area.
Anyone and everyone can be involved in the Walk, by walking and/or supporting the Walk’s many fundraising efforts. Participants are asked to register on-line or pick up a registration form at area Wendy’s restaurants. Registration is FREE for those under 18 years of age, and the adult registration fee is $15 for pre-registration; walk-up registration (on Sunday, August 30, 2015) will be $20.
The walk is on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 5:00pm during the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open at En-Joie Golf Course. Admission to the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open is free with a paid Walk registration.
